The profiles below highlight brain activity in a dyslexic child before and after an intensive phonics-based intervention. These brain scans clearly show how the language center in the left hemisphere of the brain “lights up” when stimulated with targeted instruction. The scan on the right was done after only two months! It gives hope and reassurance that the brain can change and adapt to its environment.
